Day One     We fly to the city where our nation began—Boston.  We will visit their favorite son—JFK’s National Historic Site.  In the afternoon, we will track down some of the largest animals to inhabit the earth—whales.   This is the best place to see whales in America.

Day Two   Bill will take you along the Boston Heritage trail to trace the origins of the US as only he could or would.  Learn the dirt on the founding fathers as well as some great stories of the genius that set our country in motion.  You’ll have some free time to explore the city sights that interest you the most.

Day three  We take a day trip to Lowell where America’s industrial age was given life.   We will explore the town and its impact on our lives by boat, trolley and bus.

Day Four   The epic founding story of our country would not be complete without a visit to Plymouth and its fabled rock.   This is where a band of religiously persecuted people landed and set up shop.   Se a recreated village and live the pilgrim way as you explore the historic site.   Then it’s off to one of the most exclusive places on earth where the likes of Jacqueline Onassis, Bill Clinton and John Belushi vacationed and lived.  Martha’s Vineyard is one of the most scenic places in America and we will be staying here.

Day Five   We tour the whole island today (okay, so it isn’t huge, but the sites are!!), learning about the rich and famous that lived or live here as well as the flora and fauna.  This is a day to remember from the Methodist ginger bread cottages to Onassis Osprey nest stands to Belushi’s grave.

Day Six We leave the high brow life of Martha’s Vineyard to enter the historic realm of Nantucket.   This was one of the great shipping and whaling ports of the world.  Much of the island has been preserved and is a living museum that we will sample as we enjoy this gem of the east coast.

Day Seven   It is back to the mainland for two very different but equally fascinating sites.  First, we head to New Bedford which was the whaling capital of America where we will visit the New Bedford National Site—a several block restored neighborhood reflective of that bygone era.  In the afternoon, we will visit one of the most infamous and haunted places on earth—Lizzy Borden’s house.   Are you brave enough to go into the house of 40 whacks?

Day Eight   We fly home today full of memories of incredible scenic wonders, un believable history and some of the most influential places in America.
